NRG stun MOUZ to open StarSeries Fall 2026 with big ranking boost

NRG have opened StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 with a 2-1 win over MOUZ, according to Dust2.us. The result sends the world number two into the lower bracket, a detail HLTV also reports in its coverage of the upset.

NRG took the opener on their pick of Cache, closing out an 11-6 first half at 13-11 after MOUZ pushed for a comeback on the T-side that fell just short. MOUZ hit back hard on Inferno, winning 13-5 behind a strong T-side from Lotan “Spinx” Giladi. The decider on Dust2 went NRG’s way, with Nick “nitr0” Cannella going 13-6 on the T-side to help the Americans open an 8-4 half-time lead before closing the map 13-10.

Before the match, nitr0 had made clear what a result against MOUZ would mean for the roster.

Any win here for us would be huge.

MOUZ’s Dorian “xertioN” Berman tried to answer nitr0’s Dust2 form but could not stop the North Americans sealing the series.

VRS ranking jump for NRG

The win against MOUZ was worth 129 points and lifted NRG 18 places in the global VRS rankings, up to 33rd, according to Dust2.us. In the Americas regional standings, NRG have leapfrogged paiN and DENDELE to sit seventh, moving off the Major bubble spot for now.

Next round for NRG

NRG progress to the upper bracket semi-final of StarSeries Fall 2026, where they will face the winner of Natus Vincere against Aurora. That tie was scheduled for 11:00am the following day, per Dust2.us. MOUZ, meanwhile, drop into the lower bracket following the loss, as HLTV’s report on the result confirms.
